The Inn is a charming 18th century building with a wonderful olde-worlde atmosphere. A hostelry has been here since the 1700s, and in the days of stage coaches it was an important posting stage.
Independently owned and family run, the Thompsons have been serving the people of Ayrshire and beyond for over 40 years. We use the best Scottish produce, delivered to your table with care and imagination.

On arrival at The Wheatsheaf Inn you’ll immediately be struck by the imposing architecture and authenticity. Once inside, it’s like taking a step back in time — to an era where folk enjoyed their tipple of whisky by candlelight.
Where the fire’s always lit, the food’s always good and the people are always smiling. The Thompson family have been independently running the restaurant and bar for over 40 years, and are still present to this day.
