The inn

A hostelry since the 1700s

A charming 18th century building

The Inn is a charming 18th century building with a wonderful olde-worlde atmosphere. A hostelry has been here since the 1700s, and in the days of stage coaches the inn was an important posting stage.

On arrival at The Wheatsheaf Inn you’ll immediately be struck by the imposing architecture and authenticity. Once inside, it’s like taking a step back in time — to an era where folk enjoyed their tipple of whisky by candlelight.

Family run

Where the fire’s always lit

Where the fire’s always lit, the food’s always good and the people are always smiling. The Thompson family have independently been running the restaurant and bar for over 40 years, and are still present to this day.

We use the best Scottish produce, delivered to your table with care and imagination. Simple dishes with big flavours, from mouthwateringly tender steaks to fresh locally sourced seafood.
